In the center of scenic rolling hills and rows of Cypress trees, lies a town that truly belongs to something out of a postcard. The quaint town of Bagno Vignoni is centered around the surrounding hot springs, with the main square even being centered around a thermal water pool.

Perched on the edge of town is Albergo Posta Marcucci, a fabulously charming, boutique hotel. The hotel’s understanding of the region’s cultural heritage and tradition does not go unnoticed. The seamless incorporation the Tuscan experience into every aspect of the hotel, from the decor, cuisine, and variety of services are beyond thoughtful, and provides a unique level of charisma and beauty to the property.

Rooms & Interior –

Each of the 36-bedrooms at Albergo Posta Marcucci is clearly designed to be inviting and a sanctuary of comfort. The boutique hotel rooms are simple, yet still, maintain a typical Italian style. I highly recommend requesting a room with a balcony or view. Room 126 specifically has unbeatable views of the thermal pools below and sweeping Tuscan landscape.

Style & Decor –

The hotel’s interior is beyond darling. There is clearly a high level of attention to detail and regard for the region’s tradition in the styling of the hotel. As you step foot into the lobby, you are meet with a traditional style decor that is equally as warm and inviting.

The main floor’s gathering spaces are an incredible blend of retro and classic style, which Bar Verde embodies perfectly. The emerald colored bar is styled with 1950s decor, including a record player and selection of old school albums to enjoy during an evening aperitivo.

For mealtime, escape into the dining area that provides sweeping views of the surrounding green hillsides. In the past year, the hotel has hired a specialized designer to help maintain the classic feel of this boutique accommodation. The restoration and repurposing of original furniture and artwork flawlessly maintain the hotel’s classic feel, while also providing guests with the convenience of modern amenities and services.

Food & Drink –

As a guest of the hotel, half-board is included with your stay. Trust me when I say, that you are not going to be tempted to eat anywhere else. Breakfast is a selection of fresh fruit, local jams and honey, baked goods, and an incredible range of meats, cheeses, and eggs. Start your day with this decadent spread and a cappuccino as you overlook the valley and hilltop town of Rocca d’Orcia in the distance.

Dinner is served in the dining room every night from 7:30 – 9:30 PM, and is truly a Tuscan experience in and of itself. Begin with a glass of bubbly, the Franciacorta is divine. Following, select from the set menu or the chef’s daily specials. All of which are of course locally sourced products. Definitely indulge in some of the local delicacies, including pici (a regionally typical handmade pasta) and cinghiale (wild boar). And if their enormous wine list seems overwhelming, just look to your server for some incredible wine pairing suggestion.

Facilities & Amenities –

The focal point of Albergo Posta Marcucci is definitely the spa and wellness area, including their two thermal water pools. Paralleling the town itself in the centerpiece being the therapeutic, thermal waters, Posta Marcucci is actually the only hotel in Bagno Vignoni, whos waters actually spew from the hot springs. It is the perfect way to unwind and relax in the peace of the private spa facilities. With a lawn organized with lounge chairs, sweeping Tuscan landscape views, two thermal water pools, a full spa and treatment center, and a snack bar, you may never want to leave this oasis.

In addition, every Wednesday and Saturday night, the hotel hosts an event, Bagno Sotto Le Stelle, meaning “bath under the stars” from 9:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Sip on bubbly and enjoy an aperitivo spread while relaxing in the warm, soothing waters.
